How to fold your dough

Folding your dough is key to making the perfect sourdough bread. Stretching helps to build a strong network of gluten which can trap air bubbles to create a gorgeous looking crumb once baked!

Here's a step-by-step look at how to properly fold your dough:

1. When you're ready to fold, pick up the dough ball and turn is upside down

2. Lift the dough ball from the top, stretch upwards and fold back down on itself

3. Lift the dough ball from the left, stretch upwards and fold back down on itself

4. Lift the dough ball from the right, stretch upwards and fold back down on itself

5. Lift the dough ball from the bottom, stretch upwards and fold back down on itself

6. Flip the dough ball over and roll toward yourself to stretch the top even more
